Should we be worried that the upcoming game against the 49ers is one of the top picks this week for Survivor Pools? Don't we always blow the "easy win"? *The Bills PTSD I have is strong*

I've been watching the Matthew storm with close attention since we have a cruise booked to leave out of NYC this upcoming Sunday. Heading down the coast to the southeast Caribbean (Antigua, St. Kitts, St. Lucia, etc.) over 7 days. Really hoping there are still going to be islands to go to, and the whole trip isn't going to be washed out. Also - is the ocean going to be exceptionally rough or will the storm have blown over (heh) by then? Looking for input from veteran cruisers as this is my first time. Obviously we are newbies since we booked a cruise right after a big hurricane.

Totally agree that for the money and his age it's worth moving on, but those two have been the face of the team for the last five years or so. Will be strange is all

I know it's likely, but I'd really hate to see a Jays team without EE or Bautista. Maybe a big playoff run can sway them into staying.

It's a beautiful thing that the Jays bats woke up just in time for the playoffs, but you're right the pitching (including the usually shaky bullpen) has been superb. It was great to see Odor make the deciding error in game 3. Any preference Sox or Indians? I'm thinking the Indians look like the better match-up. Watching that game now Cle up 2-0

This was my Fantastic Friday as well. Game couldn't have gone much better yesterday. That's awesome. As long as the area still smells like cheerios and boring chex smell doesn't take over.

When you're that young you shouldn't even really care about the market fluctuations. You may have lost 25K in the short term, but by riding out the valley you almost certainly gained all of that back. i.e. Buy a stock at $25, crash happens stock is now $10, market recovers and same stock (as long as it isn't a garbage penny stock) follows market back to $25, market growth brings your stock to $30 - you made $5. Panicking and following the 401k value will drive you bonkers when you are first starting out.

Against the Jays? ;) I agree, without Mad Bum nobody on the Giants scares me. They will need huge pitching performances from their starters every single night to have a chance. that's fine for Cueto/Bumgartner, but I don't think Moore or Samardjia (sp?) can be dominant over 7-8 innings consistently. Exactly. They need dominance and length from their starters. Off game from the starter = automatic loss.

Even the good Weber (Shea) isn't really all that good anymore, save for winning hardest shot competitions. Must be the name dragging him down.

I don't doubt that pressure from above resulted in the change that we are seeing, but sometimes pressure causes one to change and adapt. I don't think Rex decides to change his m.o. if he isn't a little worried about his job security.

Me too. Future #1 center for years to come

You can't fool me, I hover over all links before I click them. I had too many pranksters in my friend group in HS/college. I don't think I can stand another second of meatspin.com

Reminds me of March Madness bracket time, where for years I would always pick the Orange to win the tourney even when they were the 8 or 9 seed and had no real chance. The first year I decided that was stupid and picked a "real" bracket was the year that they went on a big run and won it all. So be proud of your homer-ism.

At first I read your post and thought "Wow that's amazing his phone number is 111-1111. that's crazy and super easy to remember :w00t: Then I realized you probably made up a generic phone number to make your point, so as to not give out your personal contact info to the internet. I'm an idiot.

Only if they buy tickets. They lost a lot of key contributors late.

Officially Stroman v Tillman for tonight. I guess the Jays are hoping good Stroman shows up instead of the guy with a 7+ ERA in the last month. He has the stuff to be dominant, but could also blow up and put the game out of reach early. That being said, I am not at all afraid of Tillman. I know he has had decent stats this year, but he is JAG imo and has mediocre stuff. Again, need to get the lead early as the 9th inning comeback is not likely tonight.

GDT: Sabres vs Canes, 7pm NBCS, 10/4/16

Sorry guys, but there's this kind of important baseball game on tonight. Pre-season hockey doesn't trump postseason baseball. (Go Jays) -
Both units have looked significantly better once Rex became solely a head coach and gave up play calling. And if Sunday's game was any indication, the penalties went down as well. I've always said there are so many things going on in the game that you need the head coach solely responsible for managing all of that (clock, time outs, challenges, situational awareness) and let the coordinators handle play-calling and their sides of the ball. Rex may have finally changed his model to reflect this.

Good thing Modo was having problems and provided this quick troubleshooting. I was sitting there all confused as to how to get my ticket - I too did not see the "Ticket Action" drop down at the top. This site isn't exactly user friendly is it? Great minds huh? -
I would say the over the middle is more inside slants and crossing routes, which we had basically none in the first two games and yesterday showed a little bit more of. You don't need TE to throw over the middle.
-
Yes have to get a lead early because you are not scoring on Britton. After reading more I think I am leaning towards Liriano as well. He's pitched well since the trade, has playoff experience and the platoon matchups help his case.

B-e-a-utiful. It's starting to feel like hockey season again.

I want nothing to do with Dickey in a win or go home game. Even when he's pitching well I always have the sense of impending doom. I wish that Sanchez was available, but we used him in the clinching game. I guess Stroman or Liriano would be my choices. Looks like it is projected to be Estrada. 2-0 vs O's bodes well but not exactly confidence inspiring. http://www.espn.com/blog/sweetspot/post/_/id/74389/blue-jays-clinch-al-wild-card-spot-host-orioles-on-tuesday Edit: Then again the Orioles website says either Stroman or Liriano v. Jimenez or Tillman. So nobody knows. http://m.orioles.mlb.com/news/article/204742708/orioles-blue-jays-al-wild-card-game-starters/
