Now where would we find a guy like Mark Pysyk? From my perspective I think Kulikov is a pretty good defensemen, and is just coming off injury. I have seem enough of Bogo to think he is the true anchor on that pair and to officially send in my application to join the Bogo Bunkertm -

Good to hear from you! Even if you are right (which I think you are) it's really tough to have a strong enough reaction to a guy like Nilsson to drive discussion more than "Glad we have Nilsson". -
That is a good thing for your wallet - once you get an appreciation for the "good stuff" you will start contemplating buying $50+ bottles of scotch or whisky. I know that was pretty tough to justify on my 23 yr old income.

You're a 12 year old in a man's body

Maybe he just thought you had no taste?!? :nana: (I kid, I kid)

It seems rather than being in an Ovechkin type shooting role, Eichel ends up as the guy with the puck feeding others. I'd much rather see ROR or Samson holding the puck and trying to feed Jack for the one-timer from the half wall. -

These are exactly the kind of posts that we need more of as a board. Back to being the smartest guys in the room when it comes to talking hockey (or at least the most opinionated!) Well done. With respect to the content of your post, Bogo+Kuli have looked like an unmitigated train wreck lately, but it is encouraging that their PDO supports some improvement. Then again, even an improvement in PDO from ~96% to 100% wouldn't bring their 28/30 up to anything we would consider objectively good - right? It would just be less bad. -
I took a big hit on my last two bets, so I'm going to call in the cooler and hang tight for a bit. Marathon not a sprint.

I just don't know if I could ever take something with "Vanilla" in its title as anything more than an appeal to the masses to increase sales not unlike Fireball Whisky or Goldschlager. For example, if I met someone and the first thing out of their mouth regarding liquor is "CR Vanilla is really good" I would immediately judge them as someone who doesn't know what the f### they are talking about regarding good scotch or bourbon. then again maybe I am just an uptight snob

I'm sorry to hear about this - hopefully everything turns out all right. To ubkev's point, I don't know if there is a good way to communicate news like that. That's a tough spot.

Risto is so sexy. I like the helmet story (if true)

Do you just have something against the Belushis? I don't get it. -
I think it's been proven that 06'-07' was the unicorn of hockey years. It will never happen again as long as Gary Bettman is in charge.

You're not wrong. I think the only OT threads we had in 2007 was the Complaint Thursday thread and Fantastic Friday thread. When the team is good people are far more willing to talk exclusively hockey. -
To me Coughlin is just the new Cowher or Parcells. Names from the past that desperate backward-looking teams cling to but never materializes. How about a new forward-looking hire?

Are today's shootouts a bad omen for the future?
Samson's Flow replied to Stoner's topic in The Aud Club
In my viewing experience Eichel seems to have converted on nearly every breakaway in a game situation (the Kane lob game winner comes to mind), but in the shootout he looks tentative. I think the key difference here is that in game situations he utilizes his spped to put pressure on the goalie to make a decision. In the shootout, he comes in so slow that he needs a perfect deke to beat him which is not his best skill set. -
Yes I can see where bike braking needs to be a bit more sensitive to wheel lock. One of the many reasons I don't have any desire to ride a motorcycle anytime soon.

My Dad always cheats on his eggs benedict and uses one of those poaching pans. I told him he should try legit poached eggs one day and he complained how they always break apart in the water. I knew there was a trick but I couldn't remember at the time. Punny.

Lindy Ruff would have stick whacked the Franson-pylon straight off the practice ice. -

If you recall Lindy Ruff was a very aggressive coach and had the defensemen highly active in the offensive zone. It was fun to watch hockey back then. -
