  1. Yep. And Caggiula took a good angle against a Duck (Zegras) in the 3rd (?) to force him to stay wide so Anderson only had to defend the short side when it initially looked like Drake did not have the line to make that happen.
  2. It is. And it is a blatant rip off of Team Canada.
  3. Trying desperately to ride off any successful team they can find hoping it might rub off on them, so they steal a Team Canada design? That is soooooo pathetic.
  4. When 24 teams made the playoffs, there were NO DeLuca 0.500 teams that missed the playoffs? When everybody played in their own division & the top 1/2 of the division made the playoffs & the bottom 1/2 didn't, there were NO DeLuca 0.500 teams that missed the playoffs? Both of those are truly shocking outcomes (if you aren't good at math). 😉 When Moe-ray-all went 44-30-8 and missed the playoffs in '18-'19, was that NOT a DeLuca 0.500 team?
  5. Remains to be seen who actually comes out of the lineup, but that seems to be the most deserving pair. The 3rd Duck goal went in off his shin. Didn't see much of his line after that. Pretty sure that's the way a guy that won't speak bad of HIS guys speaks bad of his guys.
  6. No, actually went through and looked at what teams made the DeLuca 0.500 & didn't make the playoffs some time during the shut down. It was rare to have no DeLuca 0.500 teams miss the dance & IIRC as many as 4 have missed in a single season. That was going back through the entirety of the loser point being a thing.
  7. It happens every year that a DeLuca 0.500 team or 4 miss the playoffs. It never happens to an NHL 0.600 team. There's a post somewhere on this board w/ the data.
  8. A DeLuca 0.500 team is a bubble team. An NHL 0.600 team is a playoff team. Would love to see both happen but this is still likely a sub-NHL 0.500 team. At least we've moved on from people expecting historically bad. As to the Q about the game; Anderson stole a point & the Sabres stole the other one as well.
  9. You're probably right on that count but that pairing wasn't used much at all. He was far more often paired up w/ either Bogosian or Ristolainen his rookie year.
  10. For what happened to Beach it doesn't. But for understanding the story & whether there is still another shoe to be dropped, as @Eleven stated, it does matter. Either the initial reporting was inaccurate or there are two more people that allegedly were victimized by the coach that we don't know about.
  11. But, but, but, so many say Olofsson can only score goals, and can only do that on the PP. How could that be that he set that tap in up?
  12. Right off Cozens & through Anderson.
  13. That 2nd goal against was started with what might have been the 1st shot of Butcher's that got blocked by the high F. It also was possibly the 1st total breakdown in coverage off an odd man rush they've suffered all year. They'll settle down from that.
  14. Htf did Bryson lose that puck? What a rush.
  15. Hinostroza is ALWAYS finding the puck. And now for 2 games in a row, he's had hands that almost match the legs. And that deflection by R2 Rou2 is why yours truly will keep calling for him to take Reinhart's role on the 1PP until he finally gets there. ----------------------- Asplund giveth & Asplund taketh away. Bad penalty to take.
  16. We're never getting Asplund off this PP are we? If he keeps shooting like that, he'll have earned it.
  17. Yep. And w/ a MMArena-like near capacity crowd, they should be able to hear the guys on the bench.
  18. Can somebody tell these guys to shoot the puck from the slot w/ less than 2 seconds left, please?
  19. Love seeing 2 men in front of the other team's goalie nearly every possession deep into the Ducks end.
  20. Thompson taking the puck back into his own zone & nearly, but not losing the puck set that goal up. They just started tic-tac-toeing it right up the ice via longer than usual passes that were all tape to tape. Nice rebound pass from Okposo to Z too.
  21. Anderson? Tokarski's path is more similar. Style is more similar, too, IMHO.
  22. One additional item that Krueger wouldn't have liked but Granato must teach is the D being willing to circle back w/ the puck in their own end while the forwards break out if there isn't a clear quick outlet pass. They can either send it right up ice from there to the now streaking F's or send it across to there partner for a different look towards the forwards.
  23. At the NHL level getting stuck playing large minutes without a guy he really meshed with (IMHO, Montour probably meshed best w/ him prior to the very small sample size of him and Butcher & most people here hated that pairing) he has definitely had issues in his own end. In junior when the comparisons to Lidstrom, Potvin, &/or Robinson began, he was good in his own end and played fairly physically in front of his own net. Still expect that part of his game to improve as he develops man strength. Kid is still only 21 and will remain that until fairly late in the RS.
