Bryson is fine as a 6/7. But Pilut outplayed him in the preseason IMHO. Really expect Okposo being less than 100% heading into the season is why he was sent down. They weren't comfortable going on the road w/ only 1 spare F if Kyle might be out too. And they didn't want to risk losing Fitzgerald to waivers.

His goal was huge. Been a long time since he buried one.

Really like Cozens & Peterka on offense. But defensively their line has had issues. 10 goals against this year & at least 4 were against their line.

Don't disagree w/ that at all. But, just saying, until something tragic does happen or the league steps in, the best a visiting team will get away w/ is what the Vikes did last week. Still think the simple solution is either make them play at 9AM like it's a London game or at 4:30 (or later) when it's anticipated the temperature will be over 85°F. The better solution is entend out the cover over the roof on the visitor's side of the stadium another 40'-50' so the visitors get shade as well. And the best solution would be for the league to punatively let the visitors choose which side of the field they want to stand on in that horrendously designed retrofitted stadium. The Fishies will fix the problem PDQ should that happen.

IIRC, back in the early 70's when the NHL was on national TV in the US (back w/ Peter Puck in the intermissions) they also had a Showdown style segment, except again IIRC it was breakaways & not just rapid fire. Pretty much the same thing theyend tied OT with in the RS nowadays.

Doubt that. As it would be forcing Ullmark, Subban, or Houser into the mix for 1/2 the season; which would seem to be 1/4 - 3/8's more than is in the plan.

Now, they might be on the verge of having 2 legit #1's and at a time when the also should have a legit 3 that MIGHT be a Ramsey 2/3. Add Johnson (hopefully) to the mix along w/ Jokiharju &/or a couple of the Russians or the kid their high on in junior & they really could have a Nashvilleesque dominant D shortly after the cap explodes. Talk about Rags to riches, from none in over 50 years to 2 just 3 years apart in age & both in their primes.

That's this kid's guess too and primarily for the reason you've given. But before the goalie in the opener was announced, Granato did say they'd be splitting and the implication was ballpark 50-50. So, IMHO, though we all suspect a 50-55 / 25-30 split, not positive that is Granato's plan. Interested to see how it plays out.

So, the question becomes, is this going to be an Edwards Sauve tandem where they both get close to equal games but Comrie gets the teams with offenses & Anderson gets the others; or will it be Miller Biron where Comrie gets 2/3-3/4 of the games and Anderson gets the easier of b-t-b's and the handful of games against teams like Chicago and primarily on the road? We should know by the time they lineup against the Yotes on the 8th what the philosophy is.

Whether Lyubushkin can play or not, it makes sense to have Fitzgerald working w/ Bryson, just in case he can't.

If it happens, would be a great problem to have. San Jose used it to extend their window by years. (Never fully successfully, but they were a contender for a really long time, in part by seemingly supplying 1/2 the league's goalies. Yes, it's an exaggeration, but they found a bunch of gems & ended up spreading the wealth.)
