  1. Whether Lyubushkin can play or not, it makes sense to have Fitzgerald working w/ Bryson, just in case he can't.
  2. If it happens, would be a great problem to have. San Jose used it to extend their window by years. (Never fully successfully, but they were a contender for a really long time, in part by seemingly supplying 1/2 the league's goalies. Yes, it's an exaggeration, but they found a bunch of gems & ended up spreading the wealth.)
  3. Everything old is new again. 😉
  4. Apparently somebody must've pointed out to the Sabres that they never sent out the e-mail to STHers explaining how to access the complimentary subscription to Amerks AHL.tv. E-mail went out today. Oops. (And as pointed out in an earlier post, it's the same procedure as they used last season. So, Sabrespacer Sabre STHers already were in the know. 1 extra little piece of the awesomeness that is Sabrespace. 😉 )
  5. Which has absolutely NOTHING to do with the point brought up in the entirety of the post that you conveniently erased.
  6. He's on the verge of becoming (if not already) the 1st TRUE #1 D-man the Sabres have EVER had. No one else has been one for more than portions of a season & the most recent was Tallinder in the back 1/2 of that magical 05-06 season until he broke his arm.
  7. Pretty sure it was stats. He won the Hobey Baker as a true Freshman scoring at over 1.75 Pts/game. Probably would've won the NCAA's that year had their goalie not suddenly forget how to catch a puck shot directly at his glove. He was really good when healthy. Probably still is, but we'll see if that remains true.
  8. The league could let one team wear the ridiculous looking Cooperalls. But once Insurance City started wearing them too, that was a bridge too far. Pants MUST stay above the knee. Organized roller hockey leagues were still a decade away.
  9. Wednesday 11/23 vs the Blues.
  10. And you both can be correct in the assessment. Playing w/ a mere mortal he probably ideally fits in on a 2nd pairing as a 3, but he does work very well w/ Dahlin and is effectively a 2 because both Dahlin being sooo good & the 2 of them complementing each other so well.
  11. Said this earlier, but according to Biron, Ruff's 3 straight came in the Sabres 2nd - 4th games.
  12. Good question. Would expect a few but probably not many. Fans, unlike the players, can go up into the shade of the areas behind the stands at any time they choose. They also aren't exerting themselves at all.
  13. Again, the issue becomes how tall they are. The Fishies won't let the mean visitors obstruct the view of their most cherished customers. 🤮
  14. Color on the shoulders might. The logo needs to have either some more blue or gold in it too. The buffalo looks like a ghost after a bender.
  15. They CLEARLY don't care about their own players' health nor safety. So they definitely don't care about their patrons' GameDay experience either. But, by CLAIMING they do, they force heat stroke onto their opponents. Which, pretty sure, they see as a win-win.
  16. Disappointing. Was planning on getting one. Not so sure now.
  17. Those would be way too tall. They'd obstruct the view of people in the (non-luxury box) expensive seats. The Vikes solution is about the best they'll come up w/ for 1PM games. But move the game time & it's much less of an issue.
  18. The Vikes had makeshift tents set up w/ what appeared to be 2" PVC pipes holding up narrow (~40" wide) black tarps that only covered the benches and it looked like they were at most 7' high and possibly lower than that. Would help a little but not much as the air immediately next to that 3-1/2' wide strip is still at 120°F.
  19. If Lyubushkin can't go, not expecting to see the good guys keep it close. If he can, they could keep it close, but just don't see them pulling it out. Can see the Sabres netting 3. But keeping Calgary under 4 will be a tall task tonight. (And w/out Busch keeping their F's honest, wouldn't be surprised to see 6 against.) Whichever goalie starts, hoping he gets a good pregame nap. Going to need to be well rested.
  20. Where's the fun in that? 😉
  21. Am not worried about their cycle, because down the stretch they did that pretty well last season. The team was focused on looking at AHLers in the preseason and didn't have any of the real lines working together. When Granato settles in on the lines, the cycle game will improve as the chemistry redevelop. As for not being able to slow down the Eulers in their own end, losing Lyubushkin was huge as no forechecker feared getting lit up. Samuelsson & even Dahlin will hit guys, but they aren't going out of their way to do so & the Eulers knew that. Even still, there really were at most 4 (and might go w/ only 2) truly high danger chances among the 7,000 shots that were attempted. And that's really the 1st game (or darn close to it) of the Granato era that they were actually trying to protect a 2 goal lead rather than just continuing to do what they'd been doing to get to that point. Which also implies they'll get better at it as the season wears on. Again, if the things that you're concerned w/ are still issues playing teams that on paper the Sabres are as good or better than in games 5-9, then will agree they've got significant issues. But for now, will be happy w/ 4 points out of 6 and won't sweat their dropping to an NHL 0.500 should that be the result after tonight's game. Calgary on paper is very good.
  22. We shall see, because ... This. ^ Huberdeau is REALLY good. Weegar is underrated. And Kadri replaces the dirty play lost w/ Tkachuk moving on.
  23. Bjork becoming an Amerk made the Sabres AND Amerks better. Win - win.
  24. Bjork w/ the winner! No Schlitz.
  25. And we're going to oooooooovertime.
