  1. And then Joe Buck reopens his pie hole & proves once again that Aikman isn't the biggest tool in that booth.
  2. Yes, he will. But if Okposo was fully healthy, Larry would be a Sabre now and Bjork would be an Amerk rather than that being the other way round.
  3. Looks really sharp. Good work. 🍺
  4. There are already 2 injured F's (though 1 might've been Ra-cha-cha bound) so it probably won't be too often that Granato needs to choose between the 2.
  5. Have more Floyd than they realize they released. 😉 Was really glad to have gone. He played more stuff than expected & played pretty much everything expected. (Though thought he might play a song or 2 from his solo stuff and was pleasantly surprised he didn't. His solo material was the weakest of the 5 IMHO (though his was better than the worst of Syd's but not as good as the near handful of good tracks Syd put out solo. Also thought he might've played Cyballine rather than The Nile Song. Had hoped for Wots ... Uh, the Deal but with him already playing 4 tracks off Obscurred By Clouds it wasn't in the cards. Would've been 1/2 that album. 3 tracks off Meddle, 3 off A Saucerful of Secrets, 3 off Piper at the Gates of Dawn, and a couple from Atom, Heart, Mother. LOTS of good early stuff.) And was telling my son about how Floyd opened with Echoes the very 1st time I saw them & it was incredible, so was pumped that he could (almost) experience it. The other musicians were very good, but Gilmour & Wright are on a separate plane & are pretty much impossible to duplicate. Was also impressed with how much Nick talked to the crowd. He really seemed to be having fun. And it was really cool to focus on him throughout the show. His economy of movement is amazing. Which explains how a 78 year old drummer can play for more than 2 hours over 2-1/2 hours. Had ALMOST the same seats from having seen Gilmour in Shea's back in '84 & had awesome seats back then. Was about 2 seats closer to center stage this time. We had some early 20's near us who got fully into the spirit of the show. They looked like extras out of Sargeant Pepper's. Had forgotten just how good Atom Heart Mother is though it was very strange hearing it without the orchestral backup on it. Great show. Too bad there were so many empty seats. A lot more people could've heard a great show.
  6. 🤷‍♂️
  7. Probably depends on opponent, but would expect either Hinostroza or Peterka.
  8. Which will get him most everything, but not any of the TNT games and will likely only have any ESPN or ESPN2 games on delay.
  9. Because the Sabres are so far from the cap ceiling it's been a very long time since looking closely at how the emergency recall cap exceedences the league put in to keep teams out of the Kings' situation from a few years ago when they were forced to run with a short bench because of their cap being hosed are structured, but the Loafs will face repercussions if they do exceed the cap on an emergency basis. So, they may be able to fly someone in, but they will have to make additional moves or lose cap the next year (again, haven't looked it it in a long time) to do so. Hopefully their (cap) stupidity hurts. It should.
  10. Much to Bjork's delight. They aren't hitting the road next week with only 13 F's if a dinged up Okposo is one of them. Pilut just never seems able to catch a break.
  11. Have been saying 91-92 all summer & haven't seen anything to change that as the mean for what they might be. Thing is, if the goaltending is similar to last season's, Lyubushkin has the typical learning curve of a new system that a lot of D-men seem to have w/ a new team, neither Cozens nor Mittelstadt step up, &/or injuries could put them around 84 points. But, if Comrie can be Marty Biron-esque, Buusch or Jokiharju can take control of the 4D slot, Cozens & Mitts both step up, they stay relatively healthy, & Power and Quinn (&/or Peterka) are all in the all-rookie team conversation 99 points & playoffs are possible.
  12. Was planning on going there but came across a lot on Main St ~ 1-1/2 blocks from Shea's that was $5. Real easy out and after the show 1 turn later we were back on the Kensington. Great show. He played for over 2 hours with a 20 minute intermission & a 3 song encode. Played at least 1 song off all the albums pre-Dark Side of the Moon (except Umma Gumma) & at least 5 4 early singles that didn't end up on any studio albums. Opened with One of These Days. Closed the 2nd set with Echoes. And the final encore song was Bike.
  13. Why don't you show us a team w/ a 4th liner as the captain before we show you a 2nd one? PS - your idea of having rotating A's would never have flown.
  14. 😎
  15. No. You only have 3 captains in a game. You'd be forcing 1 of the other 3 to not wear a letter if Tuch wears the C. Plus, prettymuch everybody w/ the Sabres says this is Okposo's team.
  16. Okposo & Girgensons wore A's all year when healthy. When 1 was out, somebody else would wear an A. Towards the end of Girgenson's recovery, it was typically Dahlin wearing it. When Z came back, Dahlin kept his A. Which one, who is still here & expected to be a contributor by management and wore a letter during their best play in years, are you stripping a letter from to give it to Tuch? What message is that sending to the rest of the team? Honestly doubt Tuch would take the letter while all 3 are here and still leading.
  17. Meant expect that the rest of the non-Ivy ECAC women's teams will have their home games shown on Ivy League TV (which has a contract to be shown on ESPN+) just like the men's hockey programs will be shown. Watched many women's games last year on ESPN+ as the Alma mater is a true powerhouse program and coached one of the star players of one of the Ivys in youth hockey many moons ago.
  18. It was a preseason road game. What was the last memorable exhibition game they played that didn't involve the Soviets/Russians?
  19. With the number of sponsors that have publicly bailed plus the extent of the general backlash, can't see how she's the only one gone. But wouldn't be surprised if the next chair is given the opportunity to accept/force the resignations to get some degree of public support and start out on the right foot.
  20. Didn't say he should be captain today. Said he should be the NEXT captain. Agree with the bolded. Fully understand why they chose the 3 they did to give letters. They were the captains when the team played its best hockey in years. (Yes, the team had shorter stretches with better results fairly recently, but the analytics crowd never tired of explaining why it couldn't last and it never did.) When the team produces, it doesn't often make sense to change the leadership.
  21. Power & Dahlin can so seriously become the Sabres Pronger/ Niedermayer it isn't even funny. And they might just have Jay McKee or dare we even hope Mike Ramsey to play with one when Pronger & Niedermayer aren't paired together. Regardless of what the other 3 guys are, when these 3 reach their prime this could absolutely be the best Sabres D ever. Because the other 3 only have to average 14-16 minutes per game each depending upon how many PPs the Sabres get. And even if they aren't the best, they should be in the conversation w/ '05-'06 & the mid-70's. Yeah, Bryson - Pilut is an interesting competition but at the end of the day it's a battle for 6D between 2 guys whose ceiling is 4D. And agree, Larry has outplayed Jacob but not apparently not enough to take the job away from him. Power & Dahlin can so seriously become the Sabres Pronger/ Niedermayer it isn't even funny. 22. Still a bunch of Amerks in Buffalo. They'll have the ability to ice a stronger lineup in a day or 3.
  23. Once Dahlin kept the A after Gorgensons got healthy and they'd upped it from 2 to 3 A's they really didn't have another choice. But still believe Tuch should be the next captain & not just because he grew up next to Connolly. He's the 1st power forward truly useful in the offensive zone (not run out of town by either of the past 2 GMs) they've had in a long time (since Dumont left perhaps?) and he does all the little things right. He took the team out to dinner when he got traded here, he's the guy that brought RJ onto the ice after the Nashville game, he's the guy introducing himself to "all the little people" that are part of the Sabres organization walking the talk that Adams preaches, etc., etc. Maybe behind the scenes Dahlin or Cozens or somebody else also does all the little things too, but Alex definitely does.
  24. Either intensely non-self aware or one of the best self-depreciating tweets of all time. Having read his stuff before & heard him in interviews, expect your take is the correct one. Unfortunately.
  25. Between Sabres, Amerks, Clarkson, & Minnesota & Northeastern and the occasional Michigan game, will be watching more TV hockey this year than in a VERY long time.
