  1. Good question about the rough patch, but expect the answer will be to let him power through it. At most all his stops except Buffalo, they've sheltered him at first, briefly, but he's simply played his way into bigger roles. Just don't see him having a huge questioning himself spell but could see him run on fumes towards the end of the year. And expect that having Dahlin on the roster will be a great asset for him to battle through it (you thought it'd be power through it again, didn't you, kind reader πŸ˜‰ ) so not expecting him to seem as weary towards the end of the season as Ras tended to (Ras' support wasn't nearly at the level Power should wind up with) his 1st couple of years.
  2. Will agree it was a popular song. The Venn diagram circles of that and good don't really have as much overlap as we're led to believe. πŸ˜‰ And, will be dropping this now, as nobody is changing anybody mind here. Have spoken my piece.
  3. Fair enough. But that song causes 80's flashbacks, not 90's. πŸ˜‰
  4. We'll see. Could see him stepping up into the regular rotation after Christmas, but expect he'll have enough on his plate leading the 2nd 5v5 pairing & QBing the 2PP without adding PK to it on a regular basis. And yeah, believe Bryson got some PK time because other options were even scarier. When Fitzgerald is in the line up he could get an odd shift or 2 on PK as well.
  5. Which is perfectly fine. You do you. But having been subjected to '80's pop through that entire decade, have really heard enough of it to last at least 2 lifetimes. Easily the worst decade for pop music of the 1st 6 decades of the rock era.
  6. Nobody (should) sing along to the only woman who was more full of herself than Mariah Carey. My 2 cents. YMMV.
  7. Thanks for the article. Stopped at Serivaldi not realizing it was Granato who got the extension instead of Adams. Hope the rest of it was better.
  8. Good point. Other players can score on the road. πŸ˜‰
  9. They do. Will stink to be among the 6,000+ that don't get one.
  10. Any chance Mitts can score all the 280 goals they'll score this year or at least get credit initially for all 280? 'Cause some of these choices are ... not good. (And with all due respect Liger, Skinner's choice is even worse than last year's. At least that had a bit of whimsically to it.)
  11. IF this was the last year of his contract (have seen conflicting reports, it might've run through next year) you don't wait until the season is going well to extend the coach because he becomes an UFA as soon as the contract expires. If you want to maintain control of the decision whether to bring him back or not, he'd darn sure better be under contract for at least 1 more year.
  12. Or, the message might simply be that early on they'll get a comparable # of starts with Comrie taking Edward's role & facing the stiffer competition & Anderson assuming Sauve's role against the weaker competition. Really hoping Comrie proves out, because doubt Anderson can give them any more than 25 quality starts & probably no more than 20.
  13. They very well could, but it's more likely that regression comes from even worse D play than significantly reduced scoring. On paper the Swamp Cats have more fire power than the Otters.
  14. Which is actually why Granato went with this rotation the 1st 2 games. On paper the Otters are a much easier opponent for the goalie to face than the Swamp Cats are. Had the order of the opponents been flipped, tonight's starter likely would've been flipped too.
  15. Think Dubas will have had time to send Murray down by then? πŸ˜‰
  16. Regardless of whether he bolts they should draft another goalie somewhere in rounds 3-7. Even if Portillo signs he could be an afterthought w/in the 4 years+ it'll take for that goalie to see whether he deserves a shot in the NHL or not.
  17. It's all part of Granato's plan to keep the Otters guessing. Everybody, including the Otters know Comrie should be the better goalie but that Anderson will likely get the start due to his history as an Otter (Trivia, that being the actual reason Anderson shaves his head, as a result of what Ottawa feeds their Otters on game days they all grow fur EVERYWHERE and Craig found it easier to just shave everything each morning rather than estimate where the hairline should be. True story.) and Donnie is playing into that. Will he go off-board, or stay pat, only the Dunleavy (& Mike Bales & the 2 goalies) knows for sure. πŸ˜‰
  18. Eh, you get the usual suspects & then a couple of others that have their reasons for not liking that particular move.
  19. Has anybody checked on Paul Bissonette?
  20. If it's any consolation to your Loaf fan "buddy," Jack Campbell is finding his inner Matt Murray essence for the Eulers. Nucks 2 Eulers 0 2:40 into the 1st.
  21. If this game goes kerplewy, you will catch a LOT of flack for opening a game day thread 1 day early. Not saying yours truly will give you that flack, but sure as the sun rising in the east tomorrow that you catch flack will also be a given.
  22. Why, because presumably the advertisers that buy rinkside ads do so expecting their ads will be seen by the local TV audience for ~1/2 of the team's televised games. And they aren't getting 18,000 pairs of eyeballs on them but 10 or so times that. These computer generated ads are superimposed on the in-rink ads, not over some random fan faces behind the nets nor on some of the little open white ice that is left.Really curious how much less expensive they are this year versus prior years.
  23. Would all the Wile E. Coyote Supra Geniuses predicting the Loafs to win the East and make the Finals mind please telling us who their goalie that gets them there will be. 'Cause is sure as #### isn't Matt Murray.
  24. Personally believe that if you trust your hockey department you lock up the kids you determine are key pieces.
