  1. Which by the numbers this season should be a good thing.
  2. Shh, he's on a roll. ;)
  3. Plus they are 1-2-1 in his last 4 starts. Strange timing to be running with an all he does is win argument.
  4. Maybe we could wait until after Tuesday before running hard with the 'he lost the love of the game' jokes?
  5. Yep, his play in the 3rd period of games gives reason for hope. His play earlier in games leaves room for the Sabres to have better.
  6. He would not have been as good as he has been, but he still would've been better than what we've seen. And the Sabres would be closer to a playoff berth too.
  7. Too bad for the Blackhawks. Can't say this kid is too disappointed over it. One or even less pieces for them to use in their rebuild.
  8. And the interesting thing IMHO is that most of UPL's issues have been between the ears. He has, as you said, really settled down since the D settled down. Chalk another one up in both Granato's and Bales plus columns. The biggest thing is he isn't making himself small in the crease nor is the 5 hole a major issue. (Wasn't the case earlier.) Expect his ceiling is a Biron level guy, and hopefully he gets there. Not sure what the floor is, but expect it is lower than where he's at right now. The coaches are clearly comfortable with him. But need to see more from him to fully buy in personally.
  9. Cleared all caches and stuff is still messed up. Bummer.
  10. Now am getting the issue on other websites too. Looks like the uupdated isn't install right. Dog it. So, guess there is nothing on Sabrespace's end to look into.
  11. My tablet just updated, & now replying to posts is kind of screwy. Am using a Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite running android version 13 and Samsung Internet v 19.0.6.3. When trying to reply to a post either the Tablet tries to select all of the text of the post am responding to, not letting me type. Or if there is already some text entered in the reply window, the post being replied to will only show up as plain text (& not as a full post). Am also randomly getting all these weird extra cariage return blank lines in the post window. Have rebooted the tablet a few times. Closed the internet app and also logged out of Sabrespac. Still getting the same issues. Not seeing this on other websites except TSW.
  12. 1 hour ago, dudacek said: Is there plenty of evidence to suggest that adding a Luke Schenn level player - or any player for that matter - at the trade deadline is likely to improve the team? Bear with me here, if you look at all the β€œbuyers” at the trade deadline, do most of their records actually show improvement down the stretch? Or do we just fall into accepting the β€œjust do something Darcy” hype? That's a great set of Qs. And 1's we need Adams to have the right answer for.
  13. And if none of the other team's around the Sabres play better than they currently have to date, the 0.542 you are expecting the Sabres to finish with will be good enough to be in a virtual tie w/ the Wings for the 2nd WC. Nobody expects all the other WC challengers to fail to pick up the pace, but somehow it is implied the Sabres won't either. Look, if the Sabres don't play playoff hockey down the stretch, they don't deserve to get in. It's that simple. And if THAT was the pont of your prior post, then why didn't you say that rather than decry something as being horrible? (Your post read as 'OMG, they have to play a lot of playoff caliber teams & borderline teams,' but when one actually looks at it, they play just about exactly how many as they're supposed to play based on the math. Heck, they actually have 1 extra game against a bad team (probably because the BJ game got tacked on at the end) so it actually isn't horrible.) Reality is, the WC teams will be close to an NHL 0.600 and any teams that get there will be in. Which means at least 2 teams will be picking up their play because there are only 6 teams there now & only more that's close to that pace. And, yeah, would like to see a D-man brought in to help, but don't want to see it at an overpay. This team, even as currently constructed will be a playoff team next year. Get the goaltending solid & they're a legit contender next year. As @Thorny keeps saying, when you play teams matters. The only game that should be chalked up as an automatic L is Carolina. They just don't match up well against them. They CAN do this. Would be pleasently mildly surprised, as still see them finishing ~91-92 points, but won't be shocked if they get in.
  14. Wins will help more. πŸ˜‰
  15. True. But more important is that Granato didn't have to shorten his F bench for them to do that. He didn't mess w/ the F's until the final 2 minutes & the current whipping boy Peterka had himself a breakaway that could've sealed the game w/ 3 minutes to go.
  16. Which is fine. The Sabres are pretty much done w/ the Western Conference. So, they should as a percentage of remaining "top 3 teams" be playing 11 of their 28 remaining games against them. They play 13 by your count. Big whoop. There are only 2 truly out of it teams in the east & ~5 league wide, so the Sabres should play 3 or 4 against them and by your count they get 5. So they net out with 1 extra "hard" game over what the percentages say they should have. And they should have 13 against teams in the same boat as they're in, but they only get 10. Again, big whoop. They've got essentially the remaining schedule they should. If they can't outplay the other mediocre teams, then they don't deserve to be in the playoffs. If they play NHL 0.600 from here on out, they'll have 94 points. So, they probably need to find a way to convert 2 extra regulation losses into W's and 1 loser point game into a W beyond the 0.600 to guarantee a playoff spot. But everybody else needs to be playing at that rate too, & NONE of them have to date. The Sabres are in better shape than everybody else they're fighting for a WC with because they're closest to an NHL 0.600 at present. Agree w/ @Thorny, these next 4 games won't show us anything 54 games haven't already shown us. (But the bipolarity here that will come with every W & L will likely be worth the price of admission. πŸ˜‰ )
  17. 14 ENG's. Leading the league & a team record.
  18. Not sure if Karlsson had an assist, but Dahlin got the assist on Tuch's tally. Norris!
  19. Skinner not happy about that shot he took.
  20. Durn it, what a great chance for Peterka.
  21. Samuelsson getting a ton of ice this period. Taking his shift & Clague's too.
  22. If he could've lifted it a smidge, there was room.
  23. No, no, no, per Dunleavy he's a "calming influence." πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«
