The black tar dumps aren't bad. No odor. Now formula dumps ... ewwwwww.

FTFY. 18 years and counting.

When the Sabres are good, it'll be 70-30 good guys.

Rogers crew (Friedman) says Otters are looking for D but nothing is imminent. Seems Chicago is looking to get towards (above) next years cap floor. Rogers crew (Friedman) says Otters are looking for D but nothing is imminent. Seems Chicago is looking to get towards (above) next years cap floor.

Explanation of this Particular Member of Team Storm Cloud
Taro T replied to CallawaySabres's topic in The Aud Club
The Sabres were very close in '99-'01 and probably should've been in the finals in '98 too. Except the refs REALLY horked that series against the Caps. Detroit would've killed them but they might've won 1 or 2 games as Hasek stood on his head. Can't convince this kid they'd've not been champs in '01 had they managed to get past Pittsburgh. The Sabres were Joisey's kryptonite that year and they'd won in Denver with Biron between the pipes. Would've been a tough final, but Sabres should've been the better team. Though Sabres expectations are lower now, they've had some really good teams through the years. -
Wuld expect the Sabres to bring in another D man this trade deadline or off-season who repaces Bryson in the top 6 and ideally pushes Jokiharju to third pairing. Expect Johnson gets some action this year as that will be the carrot to get him to sign. Expect Bryson ends up the 7 next year and Johnson finds himself in Ra-cha-cha initially, but would expect Johnson to get called up after an injury sometime after Christmas but before the AS break.

Bummer. Always tricky selling tix. Best advice is watch prices to get an idea of what you can get for yours and put them on the market ASAP next time you try.

What are things about the current team you were WRONG about?
Taro T replied to mjd1001's topic in The Aud Club
Mittelstadt - thought he'd be better as a C than a W. Thought he'd play the way he has lately or maybe even better but did not expect the truly rough start he had and again, didn't expect he'd need to go to W to get stuff figured out again. UPL - thought he had an outside chance of figuring stuff out, but didn't expect him to get the mental block he has out of his head. He's done a pretty good job of that and has played well at times, but am concerned that he's starting to get back into his own head again. The double hip surgery really messed with his head. Krebs - he's got a lot more moxy than expected. @PerreaultForever has seen him as a solid 3rd liner in a 200' role if he gains a bit more strength. Thought he was too small to do that, but he's really shown that with a bit more strength and experience he'll be a good player. Pilut - thought he'be an adequate 6. He's not. He's an 8 at best. Adams - wasn't sure that he actually didn't want a nice lottery ticket for Bedard. Am convinced he doesn't want that and do believe he expects this team to be VERY good next year. -
In the off season we both wanted to see 2 D brougnt in. Only one top 6 guy was brought in. They would be better if they had another top 4 guy. But it is what it is. Expect we might see a D-man brought in. Just don't have a good feel though for what will be brought in. Am not as dowm on Lyubushkin as you are, but we would be much better off if he and Jokiharju were the 3rd pairing. And actually expect Bousch to be much better for the Sabres next year with being healthy and having a year of experience in this "system."
-
Expect he'll probably sign. Also expect he'll get some action this year and look good supplanting Bryson / Clague but expect that will be the 1st chance in the NHL sugar high. Expect you're right that he's in Ra-cha-cha next year with a callup at some point.
-
There's a reason a lot of the players favorite away venue is Vegas.
-
The question to ask that won't be asked is which goalie was the odd man out? Considering how little action he gets, expect it was Comrie, but not positive.
-
If they draw the Canes they're toast. If they draw the B's, it'll be a good series. They match up better against the better team of the 2 division leaders.
-
And Myers went late 1st round for a reason even though he was even bigger than Power. Myers was paired w/ Tallinder his rookie year & that was huge for him. When Hank left Myers took a huge step back. Power played against men at 18 in the Olympics and played well. Power has been the better player on his pairing almost the entire season, he hasn't been getting support, he's been providing the support. Apples and oranges.

If Granato pulls UPL after the 3rd goal and the lazy ref actually sees the puck is lying loose on what should've been the Sabres 1st goal and it could've been much different even though they didn't play the 1st 10 minutes. They have to be better the 1st at home. (No Schlitz Sherlock.)

You do realize that you can go back to earlier in the broadcast and watch on a delay on ESPN+ just like if you DVR'd it.

Kept waiting for the dog to bite his face off. Glad that didn't happen.

Signing. And agree that NCAA UFAs don't pan out beyond bottom of roster gus very often. There's usually a reason they made it to UFA status and it isn't typically because they are trying to get a business starte while playing hockey and going to school. And not meaning to have put you on the spot. Wanted to understand your original comment better.

Are the Sabres out of the running for the playoffs?
Taro T replied to inkman's topic in The Aud Club
19-20 is right around an NHL 0.600. That will be fine to keep from falling too much further back when somebody gets hot. -
Probably a wise policy as when those agreements get reinstated, the original contracts will likely go back to being enforcable. Can't see Adams getting the ST benefit at the risk of losing a player when he's more into his prime.
-
The flip side of that is he needs to decide which of current roster can be moved for greater value and opening up spaces for some of this developing talent and keeping under the salary cap. Not a big issue yet, but will be one by next off-season and possibly at that next trade deadline before it.

To the bolded, absolutely. He and Comrie did a B&G Insights for the STHers a couple of months back and while Comrie with ridiculously long legs for a man his height was putting his feet on the cross beam of the bar stool he was on, Power had his toes on the ground. He is nearly Tage Thompson big.
