  1. The Hinostroza pass was set up by Mittelstadt's work behind the goal line and a nice look to Hiney at the boards. Though it was a 2ndary assist, it was a nice play. He also didn't get an assist on the Hiney goal, but started the tic-tac-toe-toe play.
  2. And while right now everything is so fluid, thought it was / is kind of neat that at least at this moment in time, the Sabres are in the top 1/2 of the league officially. They have the same # of points as Calgary but would have the tie breaker over them were they in the same division/conference.
  3. Be interesting to see how much they ended up giving up. Last night the HNiC guys were saying they doubted there'd be an extension in place before a deal would get made.
  4. Because some people's selective reading doesn't seem to notice any of the posts decrying turnovers or the like.
  5. So, when the hair went it all went under the skin between his chin and shoulders? You'd think they'd have a cure for that by now.
  6. Asplund. They've been having very long meaningful conversations every game lately.
  7. As of Friday they can have as many bodies on the roster as they want. Expect there is a very slim chance he gets sent down, but would more expect that nobody on the current roster goes down.
  8. No prob. (But the mods have been fixng a few of the really bad ones.)
  9. Trotz is a great coach. Will be interesting to see if that carries over to the other side of management. Not a slam dunk it will.
  10. Yeah, the tablet has been wonky since it updated last weekend. Normally catch it when it is doing that, but not always. Sorry about that.
  11. Can't send Asplund down. Somebody would claim him.
  12. Have said it elsewhere, but nobody is getting sent down at this point. Tuch won't be back until after the trade deadline. (The one slightly possible exception is could see a very outside chance that UPL gets sent down.)
  13. Expect Comrie should start Tuesday but also expect that Anderson will. Considering nobody has fully taken control of the crease, wouldn't be horribly upset if they started rolling through all 3. Would give Anderson the B's game if they are rolling through the 3.
  14. And Thompson has to come up with a new personal goal for this season. Sweet.
  15. Though he gave up 4 goals, thought UPL actually played pretty well. Maybe he could've had the 2nd goal, but Jokiharju left Oshie completely open at the side. Not sure how Oshie got so open. UPL should've let Joker know he was there, but he didn't. Still not sure who that play was on. But thought that UPL got a little lucky early; Oshie rarely shoots wide and UPL was deep in the net on that 1st odd man rush against and then Ovie shot it more or less into him on the 1st real shot on net. That got UPL's head into it. (Still want an upgrade, but did believe that Ukka Pukka Dukka had a pretty good game.) That drop pass to Power who was going off on a line change. Yikes! A buddy of mine has a saying "one ooops wipes out 100 attaboys." Mittelstadt has to be more aware of the situation there. That said, when Tuch is back, assuming no other F's are brought in, would really like to see Cozens center Mitts and Quinn. Expect the 3 could have really good chemistry together. To keep from making the Krebs line a disaster at that point would give Hinostroza the nod over Peterka in that case. Back in the playoffs (for at least now). Hopefully the Jets and Bolts win in regulation and they Sabres will still be in a playoff spot at the end of the day. (Jets win won't affect whether they're in but how close they are to 7th.)
  16. For today's NHL probably. He didn't get a fight but did get a double minor for roughing.
  17. So Yoda was wrong. When wearing Sith clothes always there are a multiple of 6 goals. Not true, unless being multiplied by 7/6. ;)
  18. Prior to Covid they were donated to charity. (The ones that weren't reclaimed after the game, that is.) Expect now they are simply thrown out.
  19. Noboby on today's roster is getting sent down. Tuch won't be back until after the trade deadline. Only roster limit at that point is it must be cap compliant. Sabres could add the entire Caps team and do that.
  20. The goalie lost his blade and Skinner shot it into him. FFS.
  21. The announcement that he was day to day said he'd been playing through an injury. Expect it was more of an issue from the Paul crosscheck the night before. (Though the Verhaegae cross check certainly didn't help.)
  22. There was a much higher likelihood of Asplund getting claimed had he been waived. Asplund may possibly be part of the future. Hinostroza won't be back next year. Now that Hinostroza is back up, if they don't bring in a F this week, after Tuch is back might take Peterka's spot in the lineup. They weren't going to demote Peterka back to the A, but now that they have a player that might bring more than him on the roster, JJ might find himself in the pressbox for a game or 2.
  23. He brought in Hinostroza, who happens to be filling in today. He aslo brought in Pilut and Clague (along with Lyubushkin). He adequately had the F's reinforced to cover a ST injury. Obviously as a 7/8 is getting regular game play, he didn't adequately reinforce the D. That said, by the end of the day they can be back in a playoff spot. He's done some things right.
