Only if they were going to skate one of the D up at F (or run 11-7) unless both Benson and Peterka are good to go come Thursday. There's only 13 non-IR'd F's on the roster and 1 of those missed Saturday's game and another likely wishes he'd missed Saturday's game as he missed almost 50 minutes of it.
-
And PuckPedia has Gilbert on the Sabres roster again. So, looks like they jumped the gun on that move. They are showing Aube-Kubel on the IR. Officially 13 - 8 - 2.
-
Do you not understand that anytime they brought Levi back up to be a Sabre they still would've needed to waive one of Gilbert (who, per Puckpedia seems to have been waived today as he's not listed on the Sabres 23 man roster; so they could keep Kulich up with 3 forwards having been injured in the 2 games against the Devils), Bryson, or Krebs everytime they brought Levi up. How would that have sat with the guys in the dressing room. Granted that guy would only need to clear waivers once every 10 games he'd been up w/ the Sabres or every 30 days he was up with them; but doubt that'd sit particularly well with them. Also, if Levi did beat Reimer out and it sure seems he did; what message does it send to him and the rest of the team that they send him down to Ra-cha-cha until it's time for his next start? It stinks that they lost Reimer. And they do seem to have a credibility issue around the league. But really expect that jerking guys around ISN'T the way to restore the credibility. (Winning is the way to restore it.)

Nuts. In UPL & Levi we trust. (They'd better stay healthy.)
-
No. But Puckpedia is listing all 3 injured F's as being "day to day" with an expected return date of the Kings game for whatever that is worth. (Considering the Sabres website doesn't even mention that Rousek, Clague, and Reimer were waived yesterday; it would appear to be a more accurate source than the direct from the horse's mouth site. 😉 ) Also, though haven't seen anywhere that Gilbert was waived to the Amerks, he's listed at PuckPedia on the Non-rostered Reserve list so apparently he got waived today (as teams have to be down to 23 rostered players later today). So, at least for now, Kulich is a Sabre, Gilbert is an Amerk and the Sabres technically have 14 F's but 3 of them are nursing injuries. EDIT: And it turns out Gilbert wasn't sent to the Amerks. Instead Aube-Kubel was put on IR.

Going to hit up Lima and Mexico while you're at it?

GDT: Sabres @ Devils (in Prague), 10/5 @ 10am ET, MSG (local), NHLN, 550
Taro T replied to #freejame's topic in The Aud Club
On another positive note, they USED to be good at home under Ruff and go on a short homestead once they get stateside. Also, the Kings in Buffalo are USUALLY (wasn't the case 2 years ago but was again last year) the Sabres b*tches. Probably about the best possible opponent they could hope for after the overseas trip. Win that; find a way to beat the defending Champs and you're getting close to being back where you need to be. -
GDT: Oct 4 Sabres v Devils in Prague 1pm EST New Season... LETS Go!!!
Taro T replied to JoeSchmoe's topic in The Aud Club
Could be a bit of gripping the sticks too tight; but personally expect a lot of the problem was not having faced legit top line competition since last April. They settled down as the game went on. Yes, a significant amount of the improvement in shots and chances was due to score effects; but they seemed to be skating with the Devils even in the 2nd significantly better than they'd done in the 1st. IF that was a significant portion of the issue today, they should be much more competitive from the get go tomorrow. (So, easy enough to see whether it may be plausible or not.) -

Taro T replied to JoeSchmoe's topic in The Aud Club
Yes, that is what the NHL.com website states. But the games on October 4 and 5 are technically outside the regular season schedule and are considered "International Games". The "Regular Season" technically starts on Tuesday October 8 and the Sabres had to play a game by October 10th which conincidentally is the date the Sabres NA portion of their schedule commences as they host the Kings. And, for purposes of calculating player salaries the RS runs from October 8 - April 17. So, sure, the regular season started on the 4th. But for most all the operating metrics the league uses, it starts October 8. And, just for kicks and giggles, IF the regular season DID officially start on October 4; 30 of the 32 NHL teams would be violating 16.3.b of the CBA which requires all teams to play at least 1 game by the 3rd date of the regular season. Nobody other than Buffalo and Joisey play on the 4th, 5th, or 6th of October. -

For 2 teams it has started, but the roster cut down date isn't until Monday and the NA portion of the RS begins on Tuesday. So, in a way, no, no it hasn't happened. And today was just a really truly bad dream that will just go away (like the last 13 years) ... (OK, so that IS pretty much a bridge too far, but you get the point. 😉 ) -

Considering he was seen in a leg brace, not surprising. Guess Krebs gets to show what he's got. 😞 -
GDT: Oct 4 Sabres v Devils in Prague 1pm EST New Season... LETS Go!!!
Taro T replied to JoeSchmoe's topic in The Aud Club
True. But win tomorrow and they're tied for the lead in the race for the Presidents Trophy. Ugly game. Seemed they weren't ready for the Devils speed which is the downside of playing all preseason against 3rd liners and AHLers. Come out tomorrow ready to get push back and let's see what happens. As much as we've been hoping that they'd come out flying these 2 games and it'd set a tone for the full year; these 2 games weren't likely to set the tone for the full year. Win tomorrow and then do their normal shellacking of the Kings in Buffalo and all is back to doable. The plus coming out of tonight is the Devils MIGHT come out a little flat expecting it'll be a cakewalk based on how this one went. Not throwing in the towel before the league season has even officially begun. -

Really didn't think you needed to go on line to get one; but pretty sure you can find a lot of really prime "catches" here. -

Wtf does the Golden Golfer on the shirts have a jock on its head?

1) Sabres point total? Had you asked yesterday would've said 96. Fork it - 106. 2) Will the Sabres makes the playoffs? H-e-double hockey sticks YEAH!! 3) Sabres leading goal scorer? Thompson 4) Sabres leader in total points? Dahlin 5) Sabres MVP? Dahlin 6) Sabres ROY? Kulich by default 7) Best off-season acquisition? Ruff 8.) Worst off-season acquisition? Zucker 9) Biggest surprise? (positive or negative) Samuelsson plays 71 games 10) Breakout player? Peterka (thought about going w/ Quinn, but will stick w/ JJ) 11) Will any Sabres players or coaches finish as finalists (win?) for any major awards such as the Norris or Selke? Dahlin finally gets invited to the end of season awards show as one of the 3 Norris finalists. He does not win. 12) Unsung Hero? McLeod 13) Who will be the first Sabre traded away this season? Trick question. No Sabre gets traded. Rosen is sent packing as part of a package at the deadline for additional F depth. 14) Will KA make any in-season acquisitions before the deadline? No. 15) Will the Sabres be buyers or sellers at the deadline? Technically buyers as they bring in 1 depth F. 16) Other Bold prediction? {Such as KA gets fired mid-season ;)} Adams gets a contract extension. 17) Any other thoughts? These preseason polls are silly. 😉

Expect on paper this should be a 96 point team. Pundits aren't giving the removal of Ellis from strategizing how the PP will run it's full due. But fork it, it's hopium season. 105-108 and either 3rd in the East or 1st WC. The GTing will hold up and bringing accountability back for the 1st time in a dozen years along with having typical injury luck for a youthful team all click. Starts tomorrow just after noon.
-
Haven't seen it here, but THN says 5th in the Adams and either they or the Caps will be the 9th place finisher in the Wales Conf.. (They have both 5th place finishers missing the WC.) Caps getting replaced by the Devils in the playoffs in their prediction.
-
That stinks. Hopefully it was just a bad scan or something much more minor. For what it's worth, have a friend who was diagnosed 20 years ago and still gets around pretty well though it is getting worse. Wishing you the best with it.

Try calling the Sabres Store directly. Almost positive they'll ship stuff. (They used to be willing to do so.)

Every day can start with iced tea. Don't have to limit it to just 4 anymore.

If the 2nd question was referring to this season, would adjust the answer down to 30's. But expect he'll hit 40 once or twice through a (hopefully) long career. Like @dudacek says, each of the 3 kids should be really good but each is a different sort of player. Not sure which would be considered THE best of the 3 when all is said and done. Would likely lean towards Quinn, but Benson might have more Marchand in him than it appears at just 19. And Peterka might be the most fun of the 3 to watch as he'll likely have the most highlightish reel style goals.

Who's in? Who's out? (2024-2025 Eastern Conference playoff prediction)
Taro T replied to Drag0nDan's topic in The Aud Club
Personally am expecting NJ to be back in. The Aisles to be out and very likely the Caps end up out also. So, there's a chance ... -
It likely never comes up. But again, the original post, the response to which you chimed in and began this tangent, was a lament over what happens should Reimer get claimed off waivers. Which likely is a 50-50 proposition at worst. (The B's Swayman situation being a wildcard. Could see them wanting him to backup Korpisalo until they get Swayman resolved.)
