Damn. One half of the Flynn Porter and Porter Flynn dynamic duo is now gone.

I always thought that McCormick, if healthy, was the perfect fourth liner. Always plays hard, good size, will fight anyone, stick up for teammates, kill penalties, a tiny bit of actual skill so as not to be embarrassing.

We may have to trade Stewart for a young prospect that is a year away from being pretty good.

The Sabres Hockey Hotline with... somebody or other?

That was excruciating. He said he doesn't care if they have the number one pick or finish ninth, and that Crosby didn't do it alone. That was absolutely ridiculous. -

Is there still room for Ott? We are getting close to being too good for the tank. We may have to give Teddy a year sabbatical and bring back Rolston.

That is going to be amazing. Stafford will lead the league is scoring.

Peca is on GR talking now. He said he ran into Toews awhile ago who asked where he lived. Peca told him Buffalo and Toews said, "Yeah I heard that's a great place to live."

Murray Heaven - Hockey Heaven is dead. Long live Murray Heaven

He said this morning that there were indeed offers for CE, as in plural. He just felt that CE was almost untradeable because of the contract and the offer would have had to blow him away. -

The confident Myers is a completely different animal from the tentative Myers. The tentative Myers is terrible. It's hard to imagine a player with as much size and skill being so bad as to be the worst player on the ice. The confident Myers is very, very good and could get a lot better. The instant Nolan got hold of Myers he became a lot different than the Rolston Myers. He wasn't instantly great or even very good but there was a noticeable and substantial change. After awhile, it was almost exclusively the confident Myers. Coaching really can make a huge difference in certain players, other players are entirely self-motivated. To me, we cannot trade Myers right now unless it was an outrageous deal. Nolan really can bring out the confident Myers on a consistent basis. If he gets to the point that he plays an entire season as the confident Myers, it could propel him to the player most of us have imagined. He was clearly our best player for some stretches. It's a shame he got hurt. We have to see if Nolan can keep his head right this coming season.

Those two reports seemed contradictory to each other. The first says he lacks hockey sense but is good on defense, the second says he's very good hockey sense and lacks on defense. I suppose that it not too uncommon though, for reports to differ like that.

It's impossible for me to believe that the concept of tanking for next year was not discussed ad nauseum during the GM hiring, was one of the biggest questions, and that PLF didn't know Murray's entire viewpoint of the concept before he hired him. -
This morning Paul Hamilton said that Ted was finally back to his normal self and joking around and smiling after the trade deadline had ended. Not sure why. He's a tree hugger. He's back just coaching and knows who his team is. I expect him to sign in about a week. He sure can coach crappy players. Who knows if he can coach stars.
