What an absurd made-up criticism. With all the real problems with this team, you feel the need to create straw men?

This sentiment is about as fresh as month old bread... Fan favorite? February 2013? Pffft.

They can fire him for a perfectly valid reason - he is no longer entertaining. This is a sport. Sports are entertainment. Lindy is the face of the franchise. The face is no longer entertaining. The conversations were stale 4 years ago. A losing team and the same tired conversations to go along with them. For no other reason, it is perfectly reasonable to freshen the product.

Imagine the odds of a Pope resigning before Ruff. Someone could have been a rich man.

The players are so good now that they are more machine like in their playing than man. I think this is why the World Jrs are so much fun to watch. Lots of skill, but a lot less robotic play. It makes it more exciting.

That part was said directly, so I know I got that right. However, I am interpreting his "everything is on the table" assertion as being his way of telling fans that yes, Darcy and Lindy could be fired, you just will never hear us say that before it happens.

So, if I were to read between the lines this morning with Ted Black.... Darcy or Lindy will receive FULL public support from everyone on the team up until the time they are dismissed. Period. Asking Darcy/Ted/Terry about Lindy's job will always receive the same answer until the PC is held announcing his dismissal. That is how they are choosing to run things. Another thing Ted said that might be enlightening was that, IIRC, nothing is off the table with regards to improving this team. One could take that statement in meaning removing Darcy or Lindy is very much on the table, but you will never hear them say that directly. The above paraphrase is as close as you will get. Did others hear that the same way? I tuned in 1/2 way, so I apologize if I got the context wrong.

Maybe if this was 2009, but in 2012 I disagree... Drury is out of the game and had maybe one decent year after 2007? Briere was never the top center on the Flyers from Day 1. He's a different animal over there and does not and has not carried #1 center duties. So, the point being even if we signed both of those guys - one would be gone and one would long ago would have been identified as no longer having #1 center ability.

Not w/o context. I didn't look it up, but you would have to see where the scoring came from and who was paired up with who the entire game. The dmen didn't all play the same time against the same players.

Is it worthwhile for me to try and get back the old mini calendar we used to have on the front page that showed the month and then the icons on game day? I miss it, but it could be a huge time sink trying to get a new one developed. Any opinions? I could also remove the month calendar view and just replace it with a more readable list. The problem with that is you don't get the feel for the rhythm of the schedule.
