Bruins make playoffs for 100 years in a row, tank for one year and will draft their future #1 center. must be nice to have a an organization that operates like a well oiled machine.
-
Let’s be real. the sens are where they are in the standings because they have solid goaltending. i’d argue Buffalo are just as talented as the Sens. except for goaltending. Probably defense too but i’d say 80% goalie (UPL), 20% defense

No Power fan myself. Guessing KA keeps him unless an offer is so good it can’t be turned down. Plays an offensive game. The double entendre applies. Lacks a consistent defensive game. In zone coverage, often caught out of his quadrant in the D zone, and plays a loose hybrid transition to man to man. Doesn’t like board work or checking. Always late to the scrum in defense of a teammate. Has 12 penalty minutes in 74 games and is -15 +/-. Still expect KA to keep him. Power needs a grown man mentor who can take him under his wing to show him how to play D to his potential. - Today

Now go back 9 games ago and read the post-trade deadline comments here about him and Jokiharju.

And I blurt out “now, now, now, now, now, now —- now, now,”. ““now, now, now, now, now, now —- now, now, now” …

Checking in on a former Sabre....Mittlestadt is having a rough year, and its gotten worse on Boston. Since he got to Boston, they are 2-9, with those 9 losses being the last 9 in a row. He has 2 goals and 2 assists, is a -11 in those 11 games (82 game pace of 15 goals, 15 assists, -82) Colorado moved him pretty quick after signing him, and now he is even worse in Boston. Is there something going on with him? Or was he just worse a player even here than we gave him credit for?

This is getting somewhat political so I tread lightly, but to try to keep direct politics out of this.... The current leadership is doing, for the most part, what they said they would do when they campaigned. Not much is happening that wasn't eluded to, or said outright that it would be done. And, the country voted for this, so the country is getting exactly what it voted for. You can say the choices weren't that great, but again, at least for the winning party, the candidate was chosen by voters. We (the nation as a whole) are getting pretty much what we chose. (and often times what we choose is not what is best for us or anyone else, but rather we choose to 'own the other side', and we seem to, more and more, want things that will make someone else mad who you disagree with)

Irrational behavior happened today in the Oval Office. A looney female conspiracy whack job talked to Trump at the WH and told him some national security staff were not loyal to him. It resulted in the firing of three members in that office.
-
Yup. I’m just trying to stay positive. Hard to say what irrational behavior is next. It could be several years of a down market. If you’re young and adding to your nest-egg it’s probably an opportunity. If you’re already retired and using some of your savings, like me, it feels like an unnecessary burden and it’s a double hit.

Will Devon Levi Help Make This Team Better Next Year?

I don't have streaks in my pants when I watch him play; I have loads in my pants that weigh me down. The people around me have given me a nick name: Stinky! -
Normally, the advice you give about stocks in a down market is sound advice. However, the president's irrational and peculiar fascination with tariffs can cause a severe recession once the retaliation comes in from other countries. What makes this tariff issue more unnerving is that much of it is targeted at our allies. Buffalo is located on the border next to Canada. It is going to have a negative effect for western NY because fewer Canadians will cross the border to shop and do other activities. If this course continues there will be fewer Canadians coming to the arena to watch hockey.

UPL isn't streaky- unless you're talking about streaks in your underpants. -
McQueen left last night’s playoff game with stiffness in his hip and back. I have a feeling the Cayden Lidstrom effect is going to tank his draft spot.

I targeted 2020 to retire and covid hit. I’ve seen these corrections in pretty much every decade that I’ve been investing. I get the extra certainty with this one, but the Covid sell off was much worse (so far) and the market rebounded. Hold on and ride it out. If you can buy more stocks/funds in the down market.

What's interesting about Who's Next is that it is the remnants of what was supposed to be Pete Townsend's ultimate opera called Lifehouse. However his idea for it was so over the top in several ways (even today reading about what he was trying to accomplish it's hard to understand how he thought it would work) that it fell apart but we got this awesome set of songs out of it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lifehouse_(rock_opera)

I would use one as a trade chip. I don't see them trading both. I guess I would keep Power, even though he annoys the hell out of me. -
Funny and true. So it could have been worse. If I am not mistaken this year or next is the last but they are still paying Bryzgalov.
-
You're right, I think I meant to say metformin.. I don't deal with much peds unless they come into the ER so I'm not as familiar with the best management but I have seen them in DKA, and it's not type 1. The other thing we're seeing now is a huge increase In C6-C7 disc herniations from "tech neck" in younger populations from constantly being on smart devices.

I know it seems like they’ve won more but the Bruins have only won one Cup since Jacobs bought them in 1975. Sorry, just realize that blue beat me to it.

To this day -- TO THIS DAY -- I will occasionally, and with no relation to current circumstances, blurt out "me and the Buffalo Sabres, yeah, yeah, yeah."
