‘But people in these parts still revere Weber as well, as he was one of the most prominent voices in Buffalo sports media through the ’80s and 90s. He’s most known as the voice of more than 1,900 Bisons games through the iconic days when we closed War Memorial Stadium and sold a million tickets a year at then-Pilot Field from 1988-1993. But he also was the Sabres’ last radio-only play-by-play man, an analyst and host on Bills broadcasts during the Super Bowl years, a voice for local college basketball and football and a host on WBEN Radio and Empire Sports Network. And he got his start here in 1976 at old WEBR Radio.’
