Sabres win season opener over Penguins, 3-1

Source: WGR-AM

‘Buffalo seized control early in the opening period of the season, jumping out to a massive shot advantage of 14-3 in the early goings inside PPG Paints Arena. The blue and gold were rewarded on one of those early shots, just 5:23 into the campaign. Former Penguin Conor Sheary scored yet another goal against his former employer, off a feed from Casey Mittelstadt. Sheary beat Pittsburgh netminder Matt Murray far-side from the right wing circle for his fifth point and third goal in four career games against the Penguins.’
