The two teams went about half a period without any scoring until Sam Reinhart threw a nice cross-ice pass to Jimmy Vesey for a breakaway. He sniped Hutchinson glove side to put the Sabres ahead. Around two minutes later, Jake Muzzin deposited Victor Olofsson into the Leafs team bench and Trevor Moore tied the score. Late in the period, Reinhart made another nice pass, this time to Victor Olofsson, who potted his second goal of the game to put the Sabres ahead for good.’
