‘You always feel that you’re ready, right? But until you step in and you’re the guy, I don’t know how prepared you can really be for all of that. It’s obviously a good feeling to have one year under my belt now, knowing how to handle the day-to-day operations, how to make decisions, trying to include your coaching staff and their input. Looking back, I gained a lot of experience. Obviously, it was a very difficult year for our team, for the organization and our fans in our city. I think I’ve become a better coach going through those trying times getting that experience. This year, we’re focused on specific things we need to do. Not knowing the makeup of the team, the personality and the relationships you can create throughout the year, I feel we’re in a good place and we’re ready to focus on those things in camp.’
