‘Before he came to the Sabres he had 18 goals and 21 assists in 60 games with the Monarchs. When the Kings approached him to play forward, he welcomed a different opportunity, “I was thinking lots of things. First of all I thought my career was just going nowhere, I didn’t really get a chance as a D-man, I played six minutes in my first preseason game and they sent me down right away and told me to play forward just for camp. I was not mad at that and it went well and after the first 15 games, I just played on the fourth line and didn’t have any chance.”‘
