Sabres Hold On to Beat the Champs 1-0

Source: WGR-AM

‘While it may not have been one for the memory banks tonight, the Buffalo Sabres did their job and are able to head into the locker room with a 1-0 shutout of the defending Cup champions. Yes, LA outshot Buffalo, but they did not out hit or out chance the blue and gold. The game got very dicey after Nikita Zadorov took an elbowing penalty, but they did not wilt. One of the big reasons for that: Jhonas Enroth. Give the team credit in front of him for keeping the shot lanes clear, and bodies away from the front of the net so that he could see everything.’
