‘As Ennis skated past linesman Derek Nansen following the end of the game, the forward says he “went to go talk to the linesman [Nansen] and tap him on the bum lightly but I think I got a bit of his hand.” He was assessed a game misconduct by the referees following the incident, and was quick to apologize for his actions. Ennis added that he “went and apologized after the game to him and the referees, and…kind of just, you know, said I shouldn’t take my frustrations out on them ‘cause they’re just doing their job.”’
