‘”Just being there in the overall environment, I just kind of found myself and found my rhythm there and stuck with it,” said Gerbe, who became close with team chaplain Father Tony Penna, who has since become director of campus ministry. “He’s someone I still keep in very close contact with. He’s the first one that kind of brought religion to me. It’s always been in me, I’ve always had faith, but I’ve never practiced it. I’ve never went out of my way to work on religion. I think that’s something that he helped me with.”‘
