‘Tuesday’s contest was a special homecoming for Sabres Forward Jochen Hecht. Despite not playing due to a concussion he suffered early in training camp, Hecht lead the Sabres onto the ice at SAP Arena in his hometown of Mannheim, where he played before leaving for the NHL. Hecht wore the captain’s “C” on his Sabres jersey and was the last player to leave the ice after warmups, but not before leading the crowd in chants and tossing pucks over the glass.’
