The Sabres have one of the deepest farm systems and prospect hauls in hockey, along with the New York Rangers. Unfortunately, with Darcy Regier in miserly charge as the season’s Ebeneezer Scrooge, the Ghosts of Hockey Past tell us that Regier will hold onto those assets rather than give Lindy Ruff a nice Christmas goose (not that he can do it during a roster freeze, but the metaphor was too juicy to pass up).
