Sabres falling back with six days off

Source: WGR-AM

‘Looking up, Ottawa’s ahead by two and even in games, Carolina has a two point lead on Buffalo with one game in hand. Boston holds the 8th and final playoff spot and have three games in hand on Buffalo with a five point lead. The 7th place Rangers are eight points up on the Sabres, but Buffalo has one game in hand. The Thrashers are in 6th and have an eight point lead and are even in games. (Guess losing Ilya Kovalchuk and adding Craig Ramsay as coach wasn’t too bad of a deal. Kovalchuk has played in New Jersey, Atlanta and for the Russian national team and failed to help any of those teams win).’
