‘Jordan Leopold may be a “nice player” to complement Tyler Myers on the blue line, but he does not fit a need area for the team. Add to the fact that other d-men like Joe Corvo remain on the open market as Day Two opens for business, and this was a clunker of a day for the Sabres’ front office. It also has become even more clear that Mike Weber and Marc-Andre Gragnani will each have a chance to make the club out of training camp. A trade for Tomas Kaberle or Sheldon Souray seems less likely now with the needs that still remain at forward and the team already has 5 of their top 6 defensemen already on the roster without the prospects in the mix.’
