‘The most promising aspect of the Sabres’ play is their work ethic. Too many times over the past few seasons, including the President’s Trophy-winning 2007 team, the Sabres have not played at 100 percent. They had mental lapses and would not fly into the corners for loose pucks, work hard in front of the net, and tie up men in front of goaltender Ryan Miller. The Sabres have been doing all this for most of this young season, and it is the primary reason for their 6-1-1 record going into Wednesday night’s game against New Jersey.’
