With 7:47 left in the third period, Daniel Briere unleashed a shot that trickled behind Blackhawks goaltender Michael Leighton before Maxim Afinogenov nudged it over the goal line for his fifth of the season. Briere just battled for the puck and then he was able to shoot, Afinogenov said. Then the puck ended up down in the crease and I was able to get to it and just push it into the empty net.
