'Devils center Joe Nieuwendyk said before tonight's game against Buffalo that he felt badly for the Sabres. Their former owner has been arrested, the team is under Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, and on Monday, a prospective new owner suspended his bid to purchase the team. "I'm sure it's awfully difficult for those guys coming to the rink every day and hearing about it every day," Nieuwendyk said. "I don't envy their position." Nieuwendyk proceeded to add to Buffalo's misery by scoring two goals as the Devils beat the Sabres, 4-1, in front of 10,598 fans at Continental Arena.'
