Blues make offer to Turgeon, stay in hunt for Hasek

‘The thrifty Sabres probably will keep Hasek’s rights. They then would have 3 1/2 months to work a trade before owing him a penny. NHL players draw their salaries in two-week installments in the regular season, which opens in October.’
